Can't get scanner to work on Canon Pixma TS6420a

Hello, I can't get scanner to work on Canon Pixma TS6420a.  Printer works fine but when I try to scan, it says it is offline.  Please help

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which operating system is running on your computer (i.e. Windows or macOS, and which version thereof), how your printer communicates with your computer (i.e. via USB or Wi-Fi), and which app you're using to scan.
