Can anyone clearly summarize the different printer series -- MG, MX, TS, TR?

What are the key differences between the four series? How does one decide which series is best for them?

In Canon's Inkjet Multifunction line of printers, I see there are currently four different series -- MG, MX, TS, TR. I didn't find a page on their website that describes each series and helps people decide between them. I don't want to play detective for hours on their website to try and figure it out.

I have an MG6220 and I cannot unclog the standard black print nozzle. I've tried all kinds of things. Plus, I'm getting the eliptical nozzle test pattern with the large PBGK ink. It may be time to buy a new printer. Grr.

I hope someone can help me figure out how to decide to stay with the MG series or try a different series.

Thanks in advance.

I do not and have never worked for Canon. Sorry to hear you think disagreeing with someone means you are a shill for a company.

I have owned a Pixma MG8160 and, when that one finally bit the dust, I purchased a TS9520a.  The MG8160 was FAR superior to the TS9520a!  I needed a 3 in one printer and when I called Canon customer service,  the person I talked to recommended the TS9520a.  I let her know that print quality was important to me. With the MG8160, it had the capability to give me color print resolution up to 9600 x 2400 dpi.  The newer, TS9520a, is capable of only 4800 x 1200!  So much for new and improved. I wish Canon would bring back the MG8160.  I would buy it in a heartbeat!
