Can I buy parts for MG5420

My dad cut the ribbon in the frontleft where you would lift the cartrige replacement tray. he cut it because he thought it was a piece of taape. it has never even been turned on   or catriges installed. this is a common type of thing for him. SMH. If only he read the directions. thers pry marks and stuff where he thought the ribbon was holding it down while it was a piece of tape. This thing still retails fror like 240.00 bux and I would like to fix it if they sell the parts cheap enough
