I own several Canon Pixma Printers and they have all worked for me for years--never a problem, except for the expense of the replacement cartridges. I know that these printers are not meant for high volume projects and do not use them for this purpose. But ineveitably about once every two to three months, I need to buy a new cartridge.
Usually I buy online or in Staples, but was in one of the two largest big box stores last weekend, when I picked up what looked like a brand new 245 Black XL cartridge. Needless today, this morning, I opened it (it looked completely sealed) and the plastic carton was unsealed. Then I noticed no orange strip on the catridge to protect it. I immediately knew that I had been taken, by target no less. I called them because this was no simple task to accomplish and not worth $30 to do on a one off. The first guy was nice but after that it was dowb hill all the way. Just be cautious as something is going on.
