Are ink cartridges interchangable?

I still have some unopened ink cartridge from my old Canon 610.  Can I use them in my new Canon MG 6220?

Unfortunately, the ink tanks for the MP610 cannot be used with the MG6220.  Using the wrong ink tanks in the printer would result in error.  I apologize for this inconvenience.
