My 7220 printer is several years old, and I have had no problem using third-party ink tank refills. Now, suddenly, I have gotten a "does not recognize ink tank" message, and the light is off inside for the large PGBK ink tank that is still about 1/3 full. Replacing it with a new ink tank results in the same message. Ideas? Thanks.

Hi Kanzas,
You can try removing and reseating all of the ink tanks and the print head in the printer to see if the ink tank will be recognized; however, we cannot guarantee the quality, reliablity or compatibility of third-party ink being used in the printer, even if Canon genuine ink tanks are being used but are refilled with remanufactured ink. Sometimes during the ink refill process, the original ink tanks can be damaged and not function properly once reinstalled in the printer.
If reseating the ink tanks and print head in the printer did not work, replacing the ink tank with a new Canon genuine ink tank may resolve the issue. If you continue to experience difficulty, the printer may require servicing; please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page for further assistance.
