ImageBrowser EX Will Not Install

I am on a macbook pro running mavericks.  The software installer seems to mount correctly, but when I click on the CanonDCS32M application it says "Extracting files" and then nothing else seems to happen after that. I am using a Powershot Elph 340 HS.  I downloaded the file from here

That is likely an update.  Did you first install the DVD that came with the camera, first?

This camera didn't come with a DVD. The manual instructs you to download the software from the website

In that case you need to call Canon Support.
