EOS VR Plugin Not Appearing in Adobe Premiere Pro After Installation on Windows 11

I downloaded the vpw-1-6-0-5-10l.zip file and ran the .exe installer for the Canon EOS VR Plugin on my Windows 11 machine. The installation completed successfully without any errors.

I am using the Canon EOS R5 C Camera with the RF5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye Lens for shooting 180° video. After installing the plugin, I opened Adobe Premiere Pro and attempted to import a few .crm files. However, I cannot find any sign of the EOS VR Plugin in Premiere Pro. I’ve checked the plugin installation path at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\EOSVRPluginLib, and the plugin files appear to be present.

Despite the files being installed in the correct location, the plugin is not showing up within Premiere Pro, either in the Effects panel or under Window > Extensions. I’ve seen others report a similar issue online, but I haven’t found a clear solution yet.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris

Did you restart Premiere after installing the plug-in?

Having this exact same issue, and it doesn't seem to matter what version of either Premiere or the plugin I try, no luck. I can even see the files in the correct location in the registry.

Greetings,

The EOS VR Utility requires a subscription.  Have you completed this activation?

I’ve purchased a subscription for both the standalone application and the plugin. The standalone application works, but the plugin doesn’t show up. I’ve tried importing a video longer than 2 minutes to get the subscription application to trigger, and I’ve also opened it manually from its installed location - no difference in regards to the plugin. I’ve tried holding shift while opening Premiere and reset the cache, I’ve pretty much tried everything the internet could suggest before resorting to the forums lol.

Unfortunately, the response I received from Canon (about 3 weeks after initially contacting them):

"I've received a reply from our software developers at Canon Inc. (Japan) regarding the plug-in. Their official response state that the information in the manual is inaccurate and that the EOS VR Plug-In does not support the importing of CRM files directly into Adobe Premiere Pro for any camera. The CRM file has to be imported into the EOS VR Utility and processed before being brought into Adobe Premiere Pro. Unfortunately, use of the EOS VR Utility for clips longer than 2 minutes will require a separate subscription."

You can't import CRM files directly into Premier Pro. They need to be processed in EOS VR Utility first, otherwise the Premier Pro plugin will not appear. Their instruction manual stated otherwise but it is wrong. Not sure if this is the same issue you are having, but if it is I would recommend looking into DaVinci Resolve. Best of luck.

So, I'm not crazy? I've been trying to get the Premiere Pro plugin to work for a couple years. Now you're saying it never worked?????? Canon, you're the crazy ones.
