GuillermoB

Been trying to install DPP 4.20.11 or 4.21.10 but the installer starts and gets stuck without any progress. I need to reinstall after by my previous DPP version disappear from my menus.

Is there anyone having the same issue with a fix or workaround?

Thanks,

Guillermo

Greetings,

Is this Windows or Mac?  What's the version and build of your OS?

You mentioned having a previous copy.  Do you have any third party antivirus installed that may block a software installation?

If you're running Windows, try using the Microsoft install on uninstall troubleshooter.

Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed - Microsoft Support https://share.google/VcKtHQlNCfdDBVBN3

This was originally written for Windows 10, but it works under Windows 11 as well.

Thanks @Rick, this is on Windows 11. I do have antivirus and will double check but suspect that is not the issue. I'll the MS install/uninstall troubleshooter.

Greetings,

Sure.  It's a handy utility that cleans up orphaned registry entries that can keep programs from uninstalling or reinstalling correctly.

Hi Guillermo,

I just updated my DPP to the latest version 4.20.11 and it downloaded without a problem.  FYI after the files have been downloaded, you'll need to close the utility or it will not install on your pc.  Make sure you read all of the prompts / instructions that pop up and you shouldn't have any problems.  The other thing that you can do is uninstall the app/program and reinstall as it will reinstall with the latest version.  Let us know if that works by clicking the Solution icon.

Cheers,
Joe

Hi Joe, thanks for the reply. Nothing seems to be working on my side as far as the Canon installations. I'm still trying to figure things out.
