can i use a memory card adapter in PowerShot A1400?

please can someone tell me if I can use a sd card adapter on

PowerShot A1400? its not working … it says memory error when I insert the memory with the adapter.

If you are referring to a card reader, the answer is yes.

If you are using a micro SD card with an adapter, then no, this is not recommended.

If the card is in a reader and cannot be read, try on another computer, if that fails, the card might be corrupt or has failed.  You can try recovery software, or simply reformat the card.  Note, reformatting the card will erase your photos and decrease your chances of recovery if that is what you want to do.
