Hey there! I had the same issue with the exact camera and I just fixed it!! It’s a super crazy simple fix if you still have the original mic cords that came with the Rode Mics.
Basically, the mic that’s gray and black is meant for the computer, the cord that’s black and black is the one you connect to the camera. As soon as I made this correction the mic turned on automatically like you see in all the videos. It’s such a small difference that no one or anything points out for some reason.
