ER-KE eye cup compatibility with EOS R5

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to get a better eye cup for my first generation R5. I see the ER-KE is made for the R5 mark ii but I'm wondering if it's also compatible for the first gen. There weren't many changes between the two generations so I feel like it may be compatible. Has anyone tried?

If it's not compatible, does anyone have a suggestion for a better eye cup?

I use the same one's picture above on my R6 MkII and R5 and they work great! They knock out all the light that the OEM eyepiece let's bleed in, they are soft and provide an excellent seal around your eye.

Be careful, use the correct size screwdriver so you don't strip the heads. Canon locked those screws down tight so take your time and use the right tool.
