I've come into possession of an EOS Rebel XT body with Sigma DG 28-300mm lens. It requires two batteries. A 3v CR 2016 which is easily replaced, but no main battery battery or charger. I'd like to make it operational, but I haven't been able to determine the what battery is required.
The ident panel on the camera bottom says: Canon DS126071 8.1V. Is this the battery information needed?
I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

The Rebel XT uses the Canon NB-2LH battery. These batteries can be charged with the CB-2LE battery chargers.

Hi and welcome to the forum:
You might find it very useful to have a PDF copy of the manual for this camera, as I assume you don't have a hardcopy that was originally supplied with the camera. This is a link to that manual:
EOSDRXT350DIM-EN.pdf (c-wss.com)
