I bought and used an HFS20 since 2011. I was pleased with it. It utilized Pixela Image Mixer software for viewing and editing videos. Last fall my HFS20 was damaged beyond repair in a car accident. I bought a used HFS30 (camera only - since i had the batteries, charger etc from the previous camera).
I thought that the only difference between the cameras was that the 30 has viewfinder instead of just the screen.
However my Pixella software will not detect and download videos shot on the HFS30. I have been able to copy the files from the camera to my PC, but the Pixela Image Mixer Editor will not access them.
Is there an issue?
This Canon page indicates the HFS30 comes with Pixela software: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/camcorders/flash_memory_camcorders/vixia_hf_s30#BoxCo...
However the Drivers and Downloads page indicates the software to use is ImageBrowser EX: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/camcorders/flash_memory_camcorders/vixia_hf_s30#Drive...
However, this page from Pixela shows support for the HFS20 but not the HFS30: http://www.pixela.co.jp/oem/canon/e/index_c.html
