Hello,
So, basically I read the manual, looked through anything involving recording a video, to importing it but haven't found an answer to my question. Is there a way to change the file type that the camera records video in? I would like to see if that would be possible. (I know I can change the export file type, but that is not what I am after.)
Thanks.

After looking through the manual as well I couldn't see a way to change the file type that the camcorder saves files as. The only thing I saw, but doesn't answer your question, is how to change the video quality. I had an HF-G20 but never looked through the menus to see if I could change the file type for recording. Just out of curiosity, is there a specific reason you need to change to another format?
