Speedlite 430EX flash won't fit my Rebel T2i?????

Help! I received the Speedlite 430EXii and it is so tight fitting on the camera I'm affraid to force it but then I had to struggle to get it off! Did I get the wrong flash???

It's designed to fit that camera & just about any other Canon DSLR made in the last 10 years. Have you loosened the locking screw all the way?

On the foot of the flash, there's a locking lever.  Push the button in and slide the lever all the way left (that loosens it).  It should slide into the camera hot-shoe... then lock the lever again.
