I also thought of "Winter is Coming" as a title. We have two bird feeders as we like to assist the birds through the winter. The feeders come down in Spring around April because of the bears. I'm told feeders help sustain the bird population through the winter. Since we also get to enjoy them so it is a win-win In the Spring the red and gold of these house and gold finches will be much more brilliant than in the winter.
We have never before seen this many finches on a feeder at one time. I guess they were all taking a coffee break at the same time. The sparrows, junkos and downy woodpecker that run them off were all on break. The bluebirds come sometimes in the Spring, along with others, but they are currently absent.
I decided to take pic or two as a break from doing my work on the computer at home and then more came to pose. Thankfully, I had just cleaned the window of all haze a few days before.
I am posting not because these birds are a beautiful as so many posted here or that my photography work is special. This picture is special to me, as it brings personal joy. I am sharing it in the hope that it brings the wonderful folks that support and visit this site joy as well. Thank you to all my colleagues for the good work that you do here, and to the many more participants that range from novice to expert that also contribute.

I like the title "Take A Number". Our feeders look like this except the little ones are not as colorful.

Thanks. Since there is one waiting for a turn (the back was also full) I thought it would be fun. Yeah, we love having the colors in the early Spring - except for the blue jays when they migrate in. They are beautiful birds but they are loud, bossy and take over and don't share well.

Beautiful shot! The way the color of the birds match the background is very aesthetically pleasing. I also love how every bird is looking in a different direction gives it a unique feel.

Thank you for your kind words. I wish I could take credit for the background color, and truly wish that I were skilled, thoughtful and intentional enough to say that I planned it that way. As it often the case with photos the background color (created by fallen pine needles and dead winter grass) was just a happy accident. It is a straight-out-of-the-camera SOOC shot, with minimal processing of the RAW file in Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP).
