Redtail Portrait

We were sitting in our yard and this rapture landed on the fence about 1o yards from us. All I could do was grab the portrait because I had unobstructed view and didn't want to move. Was hoping for a BIF but he dipped down and I was late getting back on it.

The red-tail's alert stance and uncluttered fence-line setting make this a strong portrait. At 1/4000 sec and 233mm, you froze a fleeting moment beautifully without losing the bird's presence.
