Hello, I need your help, please.
This isn´t for an EOS Cinema tools but its video with two 5D Mark III
I´m about to start shooting video interviews indoor and outdoors with two Canon DSLRs.
The type of shots: A person talking with a natural/city background.
Two persons cooking/talking in a kitchen or outside in an improvised kitchen.
Some landscape and some cityscapes shots. All natural light (even indoors) with just some reflectors aid.
The gear: Two Canon 5D mark III.
Camera (A) for the wide shots Camera (B) for medium/close-up shots.
Canon and Zeiss zoom and prime lenses. 16-35mm/50mm/85mm/100mm
Neutral Density rotational filters. I live and work in Portugal (Europe) and there´s A LOT of light all the year. So I must try to control the light available.
No matte box yet.
Sachtler ACE Tripod and fluid heads (soon).
Maybe a simple slider soon.
Sometimes one camera will be used handheld with the aid of a small shoulder rig.
Will a Sekonic (or other brand) light meter help me get consistency giving me the correct exposures for both cameras?
What else should I expect by using a light meter for this two cameras setup for video, that I cannot control with cameras screens, a bigger external screen or with the aid of a viewfinder (by eye)?
Do I need just one light meter unit to work with two cameras?
Should I use the incident or the spot functions? Reading at the subjects with the dome or reading from the two cameras using the viewfinder?
We will start shooting in a week.
The Sekonic L-478D is a viable possibility?
I know this is too many questions. So sorry. But I really need all the help I can reach.
Look forward for your replies. Thank you very much for you kind support.
Best regards.
P.s: my backgroud is graphic design.
