imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 workflow and paper recommendations

I am new to the Canon Printing world. This is my second wide format printer (17"X22"). I have it all setup and working on my wifi here at home. It is going to be a learning curve to use, since I now need to use Professional Print & Layout application instead directly from Photoshop or Lightroom Classic. So it is a two step process to print. No big deal. I used to print on an Epson 3880 Design printer. I still have some Epson Print Paper to use for printing. Is there a need to make any special adjustments in post processing before I print the photo in the Canon app? In other words, what about the ICC profile for the Epson paper. Is there any Canon paper that I should use to get the best result. I did buy a pack of 13"x19" Pro Luster. What about the Red River paper? If you have this printer, please help with some suggestions to get the best results without having to waste paper. I am a Mac user with the latest Mac OS.

I'm very new to printing and my new Pro-1100, so I'm no expert. But I bought some Epson Ultra Premium Luster at an office supply store to run through the printer while waiting on some good papers from Red River and I'm having pretty good results using the Canon Pro Luster setting in PP&L.

I'm also using the PP&L as a standalone app to print. However, the rendering intent item is dulling my colors as it renders my TIF ProPhoto color space files into whatever color space the printer is using. So, I'm thinking I need to go to the trouble to use PP&L in Lightroom so I can easily go back and forth, tweaking my colors to allow for the changes made when the file's color space is rendered down to what the printer can print.

As is the norm in this crazy world of printing we've chosen to inflict on ourselves trial and error will be the best teacher.

Why dont you use "print studio pro" plugin in lrc ? Isnt it available on pro 1100 ? I tis quite convenient

I have great results using the Epson Ultra Premium Luster. I do have the Canon Pro Luster, but have not used it yet. I always use Photoshop for post processing as I am not used to Lightroom Classic. Yes it is a learning curve to go do the two step process. Have not used the PP&L as a standalone. Many of my photos don't need much post processing as I make sure that what I am photographing is the correct f-stop, depth of field and distance from the where I am standing. I was recently up at the Canadian Rockies and those came out perfect. Only slight adjustments were made.
