My Pixma MG3100 printer is usb connected to my wife's Windows 7 PC and she is able to print at normal speed. I have a laptop on which I have installed a Xubuntu OS. Both the PC and laptop are on Windows Homegroup.
When I print from the laptop through the Homegroup however, by wireless connection, a 13 kb document that takes just 10 seconds to print from the PC takes 60 seconds from the laptop.
In order to try to speed things up I would like to print directly from the laptop via the printers wireless connection while leaving the usb connection to the PC. If this is possible would someone kindly explain what I have to do to achieve this. I do have the Canon printer set-up disk if this is needed. I do not want to interfere with the PC to printer usb connection in case it degrades the printing performance. My wife would not be pleased.
