Windows on ARM printer compatibility

I was looking through the support pages and found some information that may be helpful to bookmark for the future:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-arm-based-pcs-faq-477f51df-2e3b-f68f-31b0-06f5e4...

Note:  Windows 11, version 24H2 may break some print.

Can I use printers and other peripherals with my Windows 11 Arm-based PC?

Yes, you can. Windows 11 Arm-based PCs support most printers, including printers that support the printing standard Mopria. You can check to see if a printer is Mopria certified at mopria.org (https://mopria.org/certified-products . Printers from large printer manufacturers like HP and Xerox have released Printer Support Apps, companion printing apps designed to enhance the Windows print experience. If you're unable to connect to a printer from an Arm-based PC, you should follow the instructions at Install a printer in Windows (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/add-or-install-a-printer-in-windows-cc0724cf-793e-3542-d...) unless the manufacturer has specific guidance for Arm-based PCs.

Peripherals work if the drivers they depend on are built into Windows 11, or if the hardware developer has released Arm64 drivers for the device. It's a good idea to check whether the hardware developer has published a version of the driver that runs on a Windows 11 Arm-based PC.

Notes: We are aware of some ARM PC’s (for example Copilot+ PC’s) not being able to add/install a printer using the included installer or by downloading the installer from the manufacturer’s website.

To fix this, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners and click on "Add device" instead to add the printer manually, unless the manufacturer has specific guidance for Windows on ARM PCs.
To find out if you have an ARM device, go to Settings > System > About, and look for "System type" property under "Device specifications". ARM devices have "ARM based processor" under system type.
