Upgraded router for Xfinity wifi which has a new SSID and password. Have reset all printer settings using the system dialog option on the printer. Have reset the router multiple times and confirmed there are no existing instances of the printer on the router. Have tried easy wireless setup via iphone app and manual connect. Every time it shows an error code indicating the printer "Failed to connect to the wireless router" and "2. Check that the passphrase is correct.". I know the passphrase is not correct because it is the old password for the old router. The issue is there is no option to update the passphrase from the one originally entered when the printer was connected to the old router. There is no WPS button on the router so that is not a viable option. I need the sequence of steps or some other way to get to the memorized password and update it on the printer to reflect the new router credentials. Thank you

Greetings,
Which xFinity router did you receive, is it the white tall cube that looks like it has a slanted roof? If so it's probably an xb8 or xb10. Most newer Xfinity routers come with WPA3 security configured as default. Your printer requires WPA2.
You can check this using the Xfinity app. Make sure that the 2.4 GHz broadcast is using WPA2 encryption.
All broadcasts will use the same SSID name but you can configure them with unique names if you want. You can also choose the encryption type that each one uses if you give them a names. Depending on the model router you have, you may also be able to choose combination WPA3/WPA2 which allows backwards compatibility.
Confirm your network meets these requirements before attempting to connect the printer. You should be able to use the Canon print app, but if that doesn't work you can run the installation utility and that will allow you to update the saved password. Be sure to delete the printer instance from your computer before updating / re-adding the device.
If you run into any snags let us know 🙂
