MP Navigator EX

ALL attempts to download MP Navigator EX  from the cannon help site fail. Download just does not start and attempts to pursue other download links end up with MS Chrome logo which then leads to Bing s/engine. I use firefox and avoid Chrome and Bing like the plague. To make matters worse the idiot robot on the chat site has not been told that  Cannon made the PRIXMA MG 8150 so says "not recognized Would you like to try again"  Not that I can think of any reason that an idiot robot would need to know what printer I have to solve a software download problem. If anybody has some words of wisdom about my problem i would be really pleased to hear them. Obviously robots need not reply. Thanks J.R

Maybe the chat robot wants the correct name. It is PIXMA 8150, not Prixma.

What does "MS Chrome logo" mean? Chrome is not an MS program. Is your default search engine in Firefox set to Google or Bing or something else??

Sorry I did not make that clear. I use Firefox with Duck Duck Go as my search engine. The Chrome logo is displayed when i try to locate a possible alternative download button when the download fails to start using the displayed button, Exactly how that translated to a Bing search page I am unsure. The "prixma" was a typo on my part, but not relevant to the failure to start the requested download.  The crux of the matter is that MP navigator will not download and I have never had a download problem like this, and I do a lot of document downloads, But thanks for your response. Hi, JR!

Welcome to the Canon Community! We're so glad you're here. While this space is perfect for sharing and connecting, please keep in mind it’s not meant for urgent assistance.

I wanted to pop on here and offer up a couple of tips.

We're called Canon with a single letter "n" in the middle, not two.

As the other post mentioned, the printer is a "PIXMA." Your model is the MG8150, which our team doesn't sell or support here at Canon USA. The PIXMA MG8120 was sold in the USA but was retired in 2016, so it is no longer supported.

If you're outside the USA, click HERE to find the support you need in your country or region.
