MG7520 won't scan from scanner

No problems whatsoever until now.

I haven't scanned in a few weeks. Now I can only scan using the IJ Utility. The scanner buttons refuse to acknowledge the wireless is active & scan from there. I can only scan from computer. Only option on scanner is USB. Why can I scan from computer, but not from scanner?

Because of a change in macOS specifications, scanning from the operator's panel of the PIXMA MG7520 is not supported.  To scan, please open the IJ Scan Utility on your computer to initiate the scanning process.
