Hello,
I am trying to update the drivers to my MF753cdw. When I try to update the drivers using the MasterSetup file from the downloads area, it tells me that I need to uninstall the existing drivers. When I try to uninstall the existing drivers through the Programs & Features -> Canon MF730 -> Uninstall path, I eventually come to the below message.
When I go into the Settings -> Printers & Scanners, I can remove the device listed there but it makes no difference. Even after a reboot, I still will get the above message.
I have tried downloading newer and more updated UFR II drivers and replace them that way. That installer also says that I need to uninstall existing drivers before updating these.
I read in another forum that I needed to edit the Microsoft print to PDF port config. Delete the port used by the Canon generic driver. That port does not exist in my current situation.
The printer itself is complaining about needing a firmware update. When I try to update the firmware, it never completes. It is stuck on "downloading firmware" message for an hour. It is connected by USB and wifi. I have tried one or the other during these steps to make sure one or the other was not playing interference.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
BD
