I have a Canon Pixma iX6500 connected to a modem with via USB cable. The modem has a printing service.
The printer works with computers on the network ok when I try to print first time but if you let the printer idle for a while or turn it off and on again, the printer doesn't seem to communicate anymore. Windows says the printer is ready but when it send a print job the printer doesn't respond. After a while windows says the printer is offline. The only thing I've found that gets it working again is to reboot the modem.
Not sure if the problem is caused by the printer or the modem so I'm wondering if there are other people who have had the same problem?
This is the second print server device that I've used with this printer and it has the same problem. The modem is an ASUS DSL-AC68U, the first print server was a TPLink TL-PS310U.
