Canon Maxify GX7021 driver not working wit MS Surface Laptop

billfpdx

Bought a new Microsoft Surface Laptop-7th Edition and now can't print to my Canon Maxify GX7021 with messages saying driver not available or driver not compatible with the computer. Is there some way to fix - or find a driver that works?

Thanks for joining the conversation, billfpdx!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which version of Windows is running on your Microsoft Surface. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

Ah, more detail. The OS is Windows 11 - and I have seen a message saying that any computer with an "ARM-Based processor" may cause the Canon driver to be incompatible. The new computer has that processor. So, might there be a fix by Canon in the near future, or might there be a third party driver that might work. I've had the printer for a couple of years and love it -but I've temporarily dug up an old Epson WF-7820 so at least I can print stuff.

Hi billfpdx,

The MAXIFY GX7021 is compatible with ARM-based computers.

Please review this article available from the knowledgebase:

PIXMA / MAXIFY Products: Windows 10 / Windows 11 on ARM-Based Computers

Please make sure that your version of Windows is up to date.  You can use Windows Update to perform this:

microsoft.com - Install Windows Updates
