Canon A 2300 time lag

Gave a Powershot A2300 to my wife cor Christmas.  We are finding it is pretty worthless to take any picture of people unless they can hold still for 3-5 seconds as the time lag is so bad with this camera.  Are there any settings to change that can fix this,   Our quickie replacement we bought for $39 when our Nikon crapped out on vacation does a better job than this new  Canon.  Surely there are settings to change that will speed it up.  Any help?   thanks

Matt

oktunes,

We are sorry to hear that there is a lag when you take images with your PowerShot A2300.  It;s possible that your camera is set to the Self Timer mode.  This would cause a lag between the shutter press and the shot being taken.  Press the SET button and choose the option for Timer OFF.  This will allow the images to be taken instantly.

If you still experience the same issue, you may want to put the camera into the Program (P) Mode, using the FUNC/ SET Menu.  From here you can change the ISO, which you will want to make a higher value to work better in lower light.  This should allow you to take images quicker.

If you still experience issues, we would recommend calling our Customer Care Center for live, step by step assistance.

Please call 1(800)828-4040 and follow the prompts for Technical Support.  Our agents are available Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to Midnight EST, and on Saturdays from 10 AM to 8 PM EST.
