Powershot SX40 HS Shows gui but back screen

My sister had this camera for a long time now, she hasnt used it for a while, when i turn it on it just shows a black screen it shows the gui and menu stuff, but its just black. (ps i know this camera is old)

Picture is kinda blurry but its obvious that its just black. Not sure what to do.

For starters put a memory card in then if the display is still off or black press the display button till the screen turns back on
