I have a can canon g7x mark ii, when i switch it on to shooting mode, it just turn itself off again and the leave the lense out but it's working on everything but not taking pictures.

Did you buy this camera new?
Are you using the Canon battery? How old is it?
Start by resetting the camera to factory defaults.
Is your memory card full size or microSD with adapter? Only full-size cards are recommended.
Please try formatting the memory card in the camera. Note, if the current card contains photos you care about, please copy those to another location before formatting. Does this operation complete successfully? If you have a second card and spare battery it may be helpful to test with both.
