Production of the SX740 was terminated in March 2025.  The chances of you getting one is extremely slim.

Look at the Powershot V1.  You can buy this camera today and have it in your hands within a few days.

wait then why would it let me backorder something that wont come back in stock? just curious.

Production was discontinued and the chance of you getting one is slim.  Possible but you might go the next 2 to 6 months without a camera.  Who knows. maybe you'll get lucky.  If it doesn't materialize, you'll get your money back, but you still won't have a camera.  

The V1 is in stock.  You can start enjoying it immediately.  The R50v is another fantastic body.  Compact and lightweight.  It takes beautiful pictures and video.  It's geared towards people that want the option of different lenses.  The V1 does much of the same, but is a fixed lens body.  There are reviews for both all over YouTube.  People are loving both of them.
