I have a Powershot SX530 HS, less than a year old, but it was dropped in salt water and the electronics are fried. (If I put a battery in it, it gets very hot.) Canon has a recycling program page (https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/recycling) but nothing comes up when I enter info in the text box.
So, I plan to take it to a local electronics recycle location (such as Best Buy). I'm assuming that's the best thing I can do ... unless there is some other re-use for this costly but non-working item with a magnificent 50X built-in lens?
