imageCLASS MF741Cdw Windows 11 computer doesn't see scanner

If you have Windows 11 version 24H2 then there is a problem with what Microsoft did and the Canon drivers. I have a canon scanner that is in a color imageclass mf741cdf printer and the computer and scanner can't even see each other. The printer works great but this Microsoft mess is a pain. Some people have found a work around but that seems to be temporary at best. I need a scanner and I am looking at other brand flat beds that may work with this latest Microsoft mess and neither they nor canon seem to interested in getting together and fixing whatever caused this.

Hello,

Looks like Microsoft recently came out with version 25H2.  Does anyone have any insight as to whether this version works with the scanner portion of the MF741CDdw?

Well, It looks like I may have solved my own issue.

First, make sure you're using the Windows 11 software/drivers and not Windows 10.  I downloaded them all and during install I got an error saying my PC had an invalid IP address.  Strange but, I went to my network settings and disabled all of the interfaces except the one I was currently using (there were a number of TAP, VPN etc.).  I re-installed it and it installed as expected.  I successfully printed a test page and then re-enabled all of those other interfaces.  Now, my PC and scanner are talking and I'm able to successfully scan documents.

Hope this helps.
