how to connect imageclass mf 655Cdw laser printer scanner to Mac sequoia 15,6.1?

I'm using a newer Mac and my laser printer prints perfectly fom the computer, using air print; however, I can't scan directly from the machine to print a document or scan a document to the computer to save. I have spent hours trying to figure out how to do this, which is probably simple, I just can't figure out how. I have always had a HP printer and after I download the HP software, a link automatically appears on my computer that contains a box to scan documents to computer, or just a touch of button on the printer to just print a scan directly from the printer. Love this laser printer; it's just really complicated for me to figure out. Please help.

Greetings,

Using AirPrint will not provide full functionality for your device.  Download the Canon drivers and utilities to get full support for your product.

I downloaded the Canon MF660C series MF_Installernpkd    In the applications folder I haveThe Canon MF Toolbox which contains Canon MF toolbox & Canon MF Scan utility. However, I still can't scan. I can't even put a document on the scanner and just scan.

I am having the same issue in Sequoia, neither connection through USB or network allows scanning.  Have you found a solution?

Edit- OK, for whatever reason using the printer on a network doesn't allow scanning, ridiculous, and I don't know why.  First download the three files from https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/color-imageclass-mf665cdw-all-in-one-wireless-laser-printer

Install them.  Then what worked for me was to uninstall the printer and reconnect it via USB.  Then under Printers and Scanners add the printer using the UFR II option under the printer choices.  That enabled printing, and scanning using either the Canon utility or Apple Image Capture.  The scanner does not show up as a separate option under System Settings.  You will have to add the fax capability separately.

omg. I'm not on a network, but it sounds like we have the same issue. I even wondered instead of airprint, or rather in addition to air print, if I should use a cord to connect. Do you think that would work?  I will try your suggestion. Thank you.

It should work if you connect directly through USB.  The driver naming is confusing, but if you install the three drivers listed above, then select the UFR II driver option from the apple menu when adding the printer, it should enable scanning and printing.
