Print Jobs Stuck in Queue on LBP674Cdw

I'm having ongoing issues with my Canon Color imageCLASS LBP674Cdw. Print jobs show up in the queue but stay stuck in a “Waiting” state and never print. The only indication of any issues in the printer menus is that the color toner cartridges (which are the initial starter cartridges that printer came with) are at 40% and there is a message telling me to prepare a cartridge. I'm not sure how to clear that notification I don't wish to sign up for auto refills I already ordered replacement high-capacity toner cartridges. But there still should be 40% left right? So why is it refusing to print jobs and they get hung up in waiting state?

I have tried the following already:

  • Canceling all jobs and resending
  • Power off/on printer and reboot Windows 10 PC I am printing from
  • Uninstalling and re-installing the latest Canon drivers from the site
  • Testing multiple Windows computers (same issue on both)
  • Re-set the WiFi connection by deleting it and re-configuring (but like I said the jobs get to the printer)

Has anyone else run into this with the LBP674Cdw? Any ideas what else I could try, or is there a hidden setting I might be missing? Is it related to the 40% prepare a cartridge (Canon Cartridge 069 Toner) message? This is so annoying and not very intuitive as to what the issue is.

stupidest thing I ever heard of... Turn off Dept. ID Management which apparently is restricting the number of prints at specified toner level.

Greetings,

If you have the toner status utility installed, you may remove it.  You shouldn't be getting toner warnings for 40% capacity remaining.

Can you please tell us exactly which drivers you installed and are using?  The behavior you describe sounds like the driver installed is incorrect or incomplete.

However, it may also be your network configuration.  Do you have a static or reserved IP assigned to the printer on your network?
