PIXMA MB2720 Printer Error 5040/B504

I am having a printer error on my Canon Maxify MB 2720 all in one printer. The error code I am getting is B504, which I believe is the new 5040. I have followed the directions from the error message but cannot resolve the issue.  I have unplugged the printer several time and cleared all the print jobs.  I have also checked the ink cartridges to make sure that they are properly seated.  Every time I turn my printer back on, it tries to print and gives me the same error message.  I have instructed it to clean print head but error message overrides it.  Is there anything else I can do?

The B504/5040 error code on your Canon MAXIFY MB2720 printer typically indicates a hardware issue that may require service. Since you've already tried basic troubleshooting steps, here are some additional steps you can try:

  1. Power Cycle: Disconnect the power cable from the printer and the wall outlet. Wait for about 10 minutes, then reconnect and power on the printer.
  2. Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Open all access doors and carefully inspect for any stuck paper or debris.
  3. Print Head Alignment: If possible, try to run the print head alignment function. Although the error overrides it, attempt to access it through the printer's menu if available.
  4. Contact Support: If the error persists after these steps, it is best to contact Canon support directly for further assistance. The error might indicate a component failure that requires professional repair.

You can reach Canon support through your Canon Account at https://canon.us/account or by phone at 800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666). Our technicians can provide specific guidance.

Thanks.  I will give this a try and see if it works.
