I have been trying for hours to get my I-sensys MF655cdw printer to print envelopes. I put the envelope into the Multipurpose user tray with the short edge first (the only way!!!) and with the address face up. I have tried various printing options but I always get the yellow light on my user menu to signify it did not work. Any help MUCH appreciated.

Thanks for joining the conversation, roypaun! We appreciate the info, though we need to let you know that the i-SENSYS MF655Cdw is not supported by our team here at Canon USA since that product isn't available in this country. If you live outside the United States, please click HERE and select your country to find support in your part of the world. Your fellow Community members are still welcome to offer their advice.
Thanks for choosing Canon!

This is quite ridiculous. I am being sent everywhere in the world to try and answer my very simple question. I am positive that any of the Cannon websites, Europe or any other can answer my question.

Greetings,
First, welcome to the community. It's not ridiculous, Canon has worldwide support. You have chosen not to use the support resources in your region.
In my experience the easiest way to print envelopes is to use Microsoft Word. From the mailings menu option use envelopes and labels then select envelopes. It allows you to put your return address in the upper left hand corner and enter the recipient name and address. Word can even print a barcode for you.
Feeding can be done through the paper drawer or the multifunction tray. Orientation depends on which you use, but word will allow you to select this. I've tried envelope printing without software and in the end found it easier to use word. It's also convenient because you can merge mailing lists and batch print.

Very many thanks shadosports and apologies for the somewhat abrupt message, but I still cannot get the printer to print my envelope!!! In word I have selected, in the options tab, Multipurpose Tray. I put the envelope in with the short side going first. I closed the slider to fit the envelope width and it was accepted by the printer. When I then tried to print, with the paper drawer in, the yellow light on my control panel came on and nothing was printed. Are there some settings I should set on the printers control panel?
