What’s so special about my PowerShot G12, eBay scam??

After a long, happy association, I’m letting go of my PowerShot G12. I’m used to older electronics having little value. So, I listed my camera on eBay, at auction. I was DELUGED with zero and low feedback bidders offering way more than I expected, some offering immediate payment if I did a buy-it-now. I have deleted and blocked over a dozen of these within the first day. I’ve been a seller there for almost 30 years and never seen anything like it. Although I don’t want to deny legit new bidders, I also have no desire to get scammed. Anybody have similar experiences?

Whenever I've sold on eBay, they let me know that they have received payment and I should ship promptly. This would seem to protect you from bogus buyers.

It's too bad if scammers are infecting eBay. This is something that makes me wary of Craigslist.

You might want to contact eBay and ask about offers like you are getting.
