This weekend I am going on a whirlwind photo tour of the California Coast.
Mainly to get pictures of this:

However, I think I will also take in this in Paso Robles:
I will probably be there after sunset.
Any ideas for images, settings and techniques?

One word, Powershot. Perhaps a G7x.

I have my Olympus TG-5, but I am already taking so much stuff, I guess I will have to use the iPhone if they throw out the T6S.
I have decided to switch from my current walk-around of the 18-135 to the 15 - 85. Those extra 3 mm might make a difference. 8^) I will also have my 70-300 II for telephoto.
For the butterflies, I am also going to take my 430EX to try and light up inside the bundle of butterflies. I actually was there 12 years of so ago with my Minolta APS SLR. I am sure I can do better now. I might show some of the old ones too, just for contrast. Actually, there are *many* fewer butterflies there now than when we went before, next weekend there might be a few thousand people watching a few thousand butterflies. 8^)
