I have a LIDE 120 scanner working with a mac. Before Mac introduced their higher Operating Systems ( I am no on High Sierra) the scanner use to work very well self standing. That is the buttons on the front of it worked. Once Mac switched they blocked of the ability for the LIDE 120 to send anything from the scanner by using its operating buttons on the front of it. You can still operate the LIDE 120 by going into Systems Preferences - Lide 120- Open Scanner but this is inconvenient and time wasting.
I did ask Canon early on and they told me that it was a possible security problem and Apple had prevented the scanner working self standing to the Mac . I understood that Canon cannot issue a patch because an upgrade would need to bypass some security protocols in the Mac.
This happened two to three years ago, and with the talent out there on the interenet I can't help but feel that somebody, somewhere has come up with a patch. .........anyone ?
