I figure with my 150-600 +1.4X I can get 40 pixels of Jupiter.
The question is shutterspeed vs ISO.

I really have never tried to capture planets, just wide angle views of the night sky. I'd say experiment now. I am to understand that most Canon image sensors seem to have the best S/N ratios around ISO 800. Depending on your camera and software you can go higher than that, so experiment with it now.
