I'm leaving this here because this question comes up very often. I believe this is a very versatile lens, nice range, pretty darn good IQ at a great price point. This lens does produce quality images!
We recently returned from a trip on the Rhine River starting in Switzerland and ending in Amsterdam. I packed the R5, 24-240mm, 15-35mm and the trusty 70-200mm.
I know there is overlap in my bag but I really wasn’t certain what our exact locations for hikes and outings would be and I wanted to try and carry a single lens for the day. The RF15-35mm made it out of the bag one day deep in a local village but other then that the RF24-240 pretty much lived on the R5 and did an incredible job.
We ran into mostly cloudy or overcast skies but both the body and lens performed admirably. Surprisingly the majority of the post production work only required de-noising and minor tweaks in PS for a small portion of the total images.
While my L series glass sat in my bag this inexpensive lens {$900) captured some excellent images. For about ten days the bag got left behind and the R5 and the RF24-240mm became my all day carry for the balance of the trip. On only one occasion did I regret this decision, it was a night tour in a private castle, the lens just wasn’t fast enough to produce quality images in some very low light, I should have mount the RF15-35mm. For the entire trip I can say this mistake was a one off. During the trip the balance of the images were good quality in some fairly poor lighting. It definitely produced much better than I expected! Second trip with this lens and I am decently impressed.
All these images had to be reduced for posting, the quality is significantly better on the unedited versions. B&W images were complete in post production.
