Finally joined the club with a Canon 6D! Lens advice for a beginner?

Hey everyone! I just picked up a second-hand Canon 6D to start my photography journey. I’m really excited, but the kit came with a massive Tamron zoom lens that weighs a ton.

I want to focus mainly on landscapes with some portrait work on the side. Can anyone recommend a good "starter" lens that won't break my back (or the bank)?

Also, if you have any tips or tricks for getting the most out of the 6D, I’d love to hear them. Thanks!

For a standard zoom lens look into the EF 24-105mm F/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. There’s also the more expensive EF 24-105mm F/4L IS II USM lens. Depending upon on your budget. We don’t know what break the bank means. Everyone’s version of it means different things. Break the bank could mean $400 or $4,000.
