Hi everyone .

Newb here and was hoping for some help. Been reading the forums trying different things but can't seem to find a resolution

I have a sl1 camera. I have been getting the dread error 1 message. Funny thing is both my canon lenses dont work on it and gets the error. My aftermarket lenses for portraits works perfectly without error messages.

I have tested both lenses on different cameras and it fines.

Any thoughts would be apprecaited!

What lenses exactly?  Third party lenses are not Canon so they have different operating characteristics and internals.

HI sorry, was away on vacation and just logged back in. I have rokinon portrait lense.

any my canon lenses don't seem to work and get the error 1 message

You have a problem with your camera.  It seems to have issues communicating with AF lenses.  Your Rokinon lenses do not communicate with the camera body, so the problem does not raise its' head with the Rokinon lenses.

Get your camera checked out by Canon.
