Hi everyone. Having an issue registering an older EOS 6D Mark II. Family friend passed away in Jan '05 and I got his camera. I thought I should register it since I intend to use and maintain it, but cannot register without a receipt or store name. How can I register in this situation?
Also, I would like to know the mfg date with the serial number, yet without it being registered I seem to be unable to open a support ticket.
Thank you all. Karl

Greetings,
You can register it without a receipt, Just pick the day that you got it. You won't be eligible for warranty as the standard 1-year warranty only applies to the original purchaser. The camera will then appear in your MyCanon account. Canon is still servicing this model, so if something happens you would be able to initiate a repair request.
I had my 60 Mark II for over 5 years. Absolutely loved it. I'm sorry about your friend but you can carry on with his camera in his spirit.
