07/29/2014 purchased this camera, the very first pic I took, ERROR 30. Did I make a mistake purchasing this camera? I can read instructions and follow directions. 3 downloaded disks and all I want to know is why I'm getting this ERROR 30 and how to correct it? Looks like the Canon's solution is to send the camera in for repairs, not an option on a brand new camera.

Take the camera back to the store and exchange it for another one. Today! Error 30 is not good!

I strongly recommend taking it back immediately.
I have had the error 30 code since I purchased the camera in December of 2012. It went away, came back, and went away again. Now it won't function at all, except for taking the one picture when you turn it back on.
I have always been a Nikon fan, but decided to give Canon a try. Now I'm stuck because I purchased several lenses, including the expensive macro.
Had I returned it immediately after discovering this problem I wouldn't be in this position.
It's disappointing and I regret trying Canon.
