R6 viewfinder and LCD screen is black now!

I've been using my R6 in manual mode for over a year and now the viewfinder and LCD screen are black when I attempt to take a photo with my Alien Bees studio light.  The viewfinder and screen are fine in Auto-mode still.  I did notice in last month that when I took photos with a lot of light, the LCD screen would flash black in the areas of bright light on the captured shot.  Did something burn out or a setting get switched without me realizing it?

I think that you should reset the camera settings and custom functions back to default values. The screen flashing in over-exposed areas is a setting in the menus.
