R5 with RF lens with IS "on" mounted on tripod.

If i have the lens with IS turned "on",

and if the camera is on a tripod,

does canon turn the IBIS/IS off if i have an RF lens with IS capabilities (i.e 24-70 f2.8 RF)

I always seem to always forget to turn off IS on lens (on my 3rd party lens),

with the 5dmk4, and ruins a lot of my shots cause i'm too lazy to check on the image.

Thanks.

The general rule of thumb says to turn off the IS when your camera is on a tripod.  Only certain combinations of Canon professional grade bodies and lenses have the parts and smarts to self disable the IS when the camera is on a tripod.

A lot of posts had already been made, shared, circulated on IS being perpetually on in EOS R and EOS RP, as long as the camera is powered on.

Quick question: Traditional wisdom tells me to turn off IS when shooting on a tripod. That's the advice I am used to getting on EF / EF-S lenses on EF bodies.

I suppose it's the same advice for RF-mount bodies using any lens with IS on tripod?
