This bug likely appears under other settings too, but these are the ones I typically used when testing several R5 Mark II bodies at my local camera store in recent months. A factory reset did not resolve it.
Settings:
Image quality: RAW
Procedure:
Take two photos.
Press Playback.
Press the Info button to check the sequence number.
Expected (no bug):
Last frame shows as the final number (e.g., 2/2, 3/3, etc.)
Bug present:
Playback shows the 2nd-last image instead of the last frame
Serial numbers with playback bug:

There is no playback bug! The issue was caused by using older, slow SDHC cards (30MB/s) instead of SDXC/CFB.
